Winton Motor Raceway was built by the Benalla Auto Club in 60′s at Winton Recreation Reserve where it has become known as ‘The Nation’s Action Track’ with a good combination of tight and twisting corners, as well as some long fast straightaways. Racing at Winton Motor Raceway is always close and exciting.

Winton Raceway hosts a number or events as well as maintaining an active year around schedule of Test & Tune days for both cars and motorcycles. V8 Supercars at Winton Raceway

One of the more prestigious events on the calendar is the V8 Supercars Championship, bringing some of the biggest names in Australian Motorsport to Benalla in 2012. The V8 Supercars will head to Winton Motor Raceway  the 23-26th of August.

Winton 300 held in November

The Winton 300 is a 300km two driver endurance race open for any sedan based car to compete. The event, thanks to its unique refuelling rules, allows cars that don’t have dry brake fuel systems fitted to be able to compete in an endurance event. The 100 lap race around Winton Raceway will have a compulsory 5 minute fuel break when cars make their pit stop. The Winton 300 has a unique division system. There are six divisions based upon your Qualifying times.  The Division system is crafted so that you will be racing people that are close to your lap times and with endurance racing all about tactics, reliability and team work everyone has a real shot at winning their division.

The Winton 300 was one of Australia’s most popular racing events in the 1980′s and saw a number of Australia’s best drivers compete. Its History includes names such as Brad Jones, Neil Crompton, Peter Brock, Leo Geoghan, Peter Fitzgerald. Even Tony Grieg and Kerry Packer have attempted the Winton 300.

Victorian Motor Racing Championships

Round 3 of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship will be held in conjunction with the WINTON 300 on the 12-13th November. Categories for round 3 of the VMRC include Super TT, BMW E30 & Invited, Production Touring, and U2L Sports Sedans.
